Just a note...

Hello!  I am back today with another card for Dr. Phil Scraps

I just love that pocket, it is so cute!!  For the pocket on this card I used the Rugged Dude stamp set.  I bought this set back in January and I am just now inking it up, kinda sad, but I will be using it more often now that I have played with it.   So on to the details of how I made this card...

I stamped the pocket image in navy and then I stamped the stitching and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  I wanted the embossing to stand out even more so I used a sponge to go over the pocket with a light blue ink.  After I got the look I was going for I cut out the pocket and adhered it to my card base.  Oh I almost forgot the cute little tab, those are included in the stamp set also:)   I punched some flowers out using some pattern paper in the Clementine Paper Pack and layed them out on my card until I got them how I wanted them and then I adhered them with foam adhesive and glue dots.  I placed some pearls in the center and stamped my sentiment from the A Friend Like You stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Miss You

I am back today with another card to share for Dr. Phil Scraps!  This one is a really simple card.

I stamped the birdcage on the left hand side of my card base using the Hello Tweety stamp set.  I then stamped the chain image in the set to have my cage hanging.  I gotta say that the chain image was super easy to line up, loved that!  I stamped my sentiment overlapping the cage.  I also dry embossed my card base after I finished all of my stamping with a linen and canvas embossing plate.  I hope you enjoyed todays card!

Clearly Besotted Challenge #2

Hello!  I am popping in today to share a card that I made to enter into the Clearly Besotted Challenge: Seeing Spots.

I used the Fancy Feathers Stamp set for my card today ( I LOVE this set!).  I heat embossed the feather with gold embossing powder on a polka dot pattern paper and fussy cut them out.  I tied some twine around the feathers and adhered them to my card after I stamped the sentiment.

Go check out the challenge you have until July 23, 2013 to play along:)

A Layout

Hi!  I have a layout to share with you today based on the following sketch.

It has been a while since I have done any layouts and I am not good at following sketches but I think I did okay with this one!

Here is a closer look at the detailed part.

So for this layout I started with the Clementine Paper Pack and the coordinating Canvas Shapes.  There is solid and pattern paper in the paper pack which is really nice, you have everything you need to get started.  I printed my photo larger and matted it with some pattern papers from the pack as well as some vellum, I just love the look of vellum on my layouts.  For the right side of the layout I die cut a tag from the pattern paper and heat embossed a saying from the Hello Tweety Flair stamp set and added some canvas flowers from the Canvas Shapes to the tag.  I matted the same photo only smaller behind a slider frame and Finally added more of the canvas flowers along the bottom.  Here is a closer look at the tag.

I hope you have enjoyed the layout I shared with you today.  For more inspiration visit http://drphilscraps.com/ and if you play along with the layout Challenge this week you have a chance to win a Cricut Cartridge, just go here to find out more!

Thankful

Hello!  I am so happy to be sharing my first post for Dr. Phil Scraps today!  I love making cards so I have a card to share with you today.

I thought a Thank you card was appropriate since I am incredibly thankful to be able to be part of this design team and share my work with all of you.  For my card I used a couple stamp sets the Stitched Together and A Friend like you.  I stamped the circle stitched image 9 times on my card base.  I then  punched some butterflies from some pattern paper in the Clementine Paper Pack.  I used some small button brads to attach the butterflies to the card base.  Last I stamped my sentiment.   Thanks for stopping by today!
